Volunteer Opportunities

The McKinney North Band welcomes volunteers and has many different ways you can get involved to support our program, directors and students!  If you are interested in volunteering please get in touch with our volunteer coordinator at Volunteer.mnhsband@gmail.com.

Chaperones for Football Games, Marching Contests, and other Travel Events

Chaperones will ride the buses with the students, and remain with the group throughout the entire event. 

Pit Crew

Volunteers will help load and unload equipment and props before and after football games and marching band competitions, as well as moving equipment and props on and off the field during halftime shows and marching band competitions.

Ice Gophers

Will fill coolers with ice and water to be loaded on trucks for football games and marching band competitions.

Plume Crew

Will distribute and retrieve plumes to/from students during football games and marching competitions.

Lyre Crew

Will retrieve student lyres and flip folders off of field during halftime performance at football games.

Food Servers

Will assist with meal setup, serving and cleanup for meals provided to the students on football game days before students depart for the game. 

Nurse/First Aid

Will provide first aid to students as needed and as allowed by medical release forms during football games and marching competitions.

Uniform Volunteers

Will assist with marching uniform fittings and inventory for students at MNHS before marching season each year as well as fitting students for concert formal wear during concert season. Fittings will take place over the course of many days each season, during the school day.
