Director’s Note
Congratulations to all of our percussion students on a fantastic Night of Drumming! It was a wonderful concert, and we truly appreciate everyone who came out to support and enjoy the performance.
This coming Friday is our Solo Contest. Please be sure that if your student is performing with an accompanist, they have paid the correct rate based on the information Mr. McCue sent out.
Our Marching Band Kick-Off is this Tuesday in the auditorium! We will begin with a brief parent meeting at 6:30 PM, followed by the full student meeting. This is an important event for all members of the 2026 band and we can’t wait to share what we have planned for the upcoming season!
Lastly, I wanted to share an update regarding our Colorguard program.
Over the past year, we have worked closely with Ms. Coffee to thoughtfully prepare the program for her transition as she returns to school to complete her degree. On Friday, we shared with students and the district that she will not be returning next year. We are incredibly for the impact she has had on our students and program. Under her leadership, the guard has been a perennial NTCA State finalist, and more importantly, developed a strong culture of excellence and pride that will continue moving forward.
As we look ahead, the McKinney North Colorguard program remains strong. We will take great care in selecting the next director to build on this foundation and continue our tradition of success.
